1. Who we are

Kenpai is an online coding education platform operating at senpai.org.in. We provide mentorship-first Python and AI coding courses for students aged 7–18+, delivered through a combination of recorded lessons and live 1-on-1 sessions.

This policy applies to all visitors of senpai.org.in and all students enrolled in Kenpai courses. By using our website or enrolling in a course, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to deliver our courses and communicate with you. Below is a full list of what we collect and where.

We do not collect any sensitive personal data (such as financial details, national ID numbers, or health information) directly. Payment card details are processed exclusively by PayPal and never stored on our servers.

3. Why we collect it

We use your data only for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries, demo requests, and contact form submissions
  • To process enrolment and confirm payment for a course
  • To schedule and conduct live 1-on-1 sessions
  • To provide access to the student dashboard and track course progress
  • To send session reminders, assignment feedback, and course-related communications
  • To issue course completion certificates
  • To improve our courses and platform based on general usage patterns

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell your data to any third party, and we do not send unsolicited marketing emails. Any communication from Kenpai will be directly related to your enquiry or enrolment.

4. Third parties we share data with

To operate our platform, we use the following trusted third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy which governs how they handle data passed to them.

We do not share your data with any other parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data under any circumstances.

5. Children's data

Kenpai serves students as young as 7 years old. We take children's privacy seriously and handle all data involving minors with extra care, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable international standards.

When a student is under 18, we require that a parent or guardian:

  • Initiates the enrolment or contact on behalf of the child
  • Provides consent for the child's data to be collected and used
  • Acts as the primary contact for all course communications

We collect student age only where necessary for appropriate course placement (specifically the Young Coders track for ages 7–10). We do not use children's data for profiling, advertising, or any purpose beyond delivering the enrolled course.

Parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us at Sensei@senpai.org.in.

After the applicable retention period, data is permanently deleted from our systems and from the systems of our third-party service providers, where possible.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — Request that we delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Portability — Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection — Object to specific uses of your data
  • Withdrawal of consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at sensei@senpai.org.in with your request. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for reasonable requests.

8. Cookies

Our website uses a minimal number of cookies, primarily for functionality rather than tracking.

  • Session cookies — Used by Supabase to maintain your logged-in state on the dashboard. These expire when you close your browser or sign out.
  • Cloudflare cookies — Set automatically by our CDN provider for security and performance purposes.
  • Google OAuth tokens — Stored locally in your browser to keep you signed in to the dashboard.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics), or any third-party tracking pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect dashboard functionality.
